Bo Hagstrom owns this Silver Metallic 1996 Trans Am. Bo writes:

"Hello there! I have just recognized that you have old information regarding me and my car in the int´l lots! The old 1984 Recaro is sold and I have now a 1996 Silver Metallic Trans Am Ram Air (WS6) M6. This new car is somewhat modified doing 13.66 secs for the 1/4 mile still having a very low consumption av gas. Last but not least it's a nice website you have. Very, very informative. Keep up the good work! I am a member of the board of The Trans Am Club of Sweden and in that capacity I am responsible for the member register."

Best regards,

Red '69 Firebird convertible This 1969 Firebird is owned by Peter Azzopardi. Really it is I promise. This beautiful 69' convertible is running a Chevy 350c.i. engine connected to a 4-speed Turbo 700 Automatic transmission. Other add-ons include a B&M Megashifter, a twin S/S 3" system with dumpers, Cragar wheels and a hellacious stereo system. The interior is black with a white power top and the paint is a red with pink pearl. Its also been converted to right hand drive for driving. Peter paid $20k for the car and says they are very rare in Australia.

This 1977 Trans Am is owned by Ken De Vries. It is a Y82 Special Edition, California car, with Hurst T-Tops, a rear console, the original paint and decals and only has 79,000 miles on it. Ken bought the TA from the another Australian who had it imported but could not pay for it.  Because of Australian laws it had to be converted to right hand drive before it could be legally driven. So Ken commissioned a restoration company specializing in such conversions to change the TA from left hand to right hand drive. Not an easy task nor a cheap one with a price tag of nearly $10k. Ken writes:

"The end result was well worth it because so many people can't believe it wasn't built that way. My Trans Am spends most of it's time in the garage but does come out during the summer months. It never fails to attract lots of attention and comments. As you can imagine there aren't a lot of T/A's in Australia."

To read the complete story on how Ken acquired this beautiful S.E. click here.

You can also click here to read a lengthy description on how the conversion was performed.

This is the only place on site where I have provided six thumbnails of one car. I chose to do this because Ken sent me over a dozen pictures and I didn't think I could display the uniqueness of this car with just five pics. Enjoy!!!!

Gold Y88 S.E. Trans Am

Gold Y88 S.E. Trans Am
This Trans Am is owned by Ed Treijis. Its a Y88 Gold Special Edition. As you can tell from the pics, Ed loves to race his bird. Ed's best run to date is a 14.403 with a basically stock 400 and a set of slicks. There's nothing I like more than to see a Trans Am launching hard off the line at a drag strip. The funny cars are exciting but the really interesting cars to me are the stock musclecars driven by locals they've built themselves.

Red '70 Firebird This 1970 Firebird Esprit/Formula 350 belongs to Mike Gomez. It was originally imported to the Phillipines as an Esprit in 1971 through the U.S. Naval Air Station at Cubi Point, Zambales. Mike bought the car and converted it to a Formula. It features the YU code 350c.i. 2bbl engine which produced a healthy 255hp @ 4600rpm. A TH350 tranny is bolted to it and features and B&M TransKit and a Hurst V-Matic 2 shifter on the inside. The rear is a non-original 3:36 10-bolt posi unit that Mike removed from a Camaro. The exhaust is a dual system with balanced tubes and 18" glasspacks. Ignition is an aftermarket MSD 6-A and an aftermarket AutoMeter Shift Lite Tachometer lets Mike watch the RPMS. The car does retain its original Rally II wheels equipped with 215/70-14 Generals.

This 1986 Trans Am also belongs to Mike Gomez. The engine is a 5.0L 350 4-bolt main bored .030 over for c.i. size of 355. Its built with an HPX main stud kit, TRW forged flat top pistons, a Summit K1103 cam kit (.214/.224 duration @ .050 & .442/.465 valve lift), a Cloyes double roller with a Torrington bearing block protector kit, an Edelbrock Performer manifold with a Quadrajet carburetor, Chevy 882 heads (gasket matched) with 2.02/1.60 valves and Z28 valve springs. Lastly a TH700R4 transmission is bolted to it.
The wheels are Pirelli P600 225/60-15 tires mounted on 15"x7" rims. Factory options include T-Tops, tilt wheel, power windows, and A/C. The car does not currently have a rear spoiler but Mike is looking for one. He had a new one priced at $1200 so I you can imagine why he has been reluctant to acquire one. Mike has other lofty future plans for the car. A 400P from a 1970 GTO will be installed using a Jim Butler Performance  Kit.

'80 Indy 500 Turbo Trans Am Pace Car This pic of a 1980 Turbo Pace Car Trans Am was submitted to me by Roddy Black. Roddy no longer owns this Trans Am but to the best of his knowledge it is still in Scotland. Roddy was forced to sell it due to its, in his own words, "Voracious appetite for engines." At the time of this picture it had the correct 4.9L sans the turbo unit. Apparently the last time Roddy heard mention of it it was for sale in Glasglow for £3000.00. It was advertised as having a Pontiac 350 installed and non-original wheels. Roddy tells me this is because he still has them! As to how the car came to be in Scotland Roddy writes:

"As far as I know, the car was imported by an American working in the oil industry in Aberdeen, I don't know what happened to it after that, but it ended up lying in some ones garage for quite a substantial amount of time until the guy I bought it from bought it. It had all available options on it, some worked some didn't, i.e. bonnet mounted turbo gauge, foot well courtesy lights, digital stereo and of course the pace car graphics on the doors. This car is the only one I've ever seen with that, other than one that was for sale on the I/net. It was in pretty bad shape when I got it and in fact burst an oil seal and emptied all it's contents on the motorway at 85 mph. After a lot of wrangling (to no avail!) with the garage that I purchased it from, I sourced a 4.9 litre engine from a friend of mine. It's a shame really, cuz shortly before that, I had in my possession a very sweet 6.6 litre mill."

Roddy is no stranger to Pontiacs having owned three other Firebirds besides the Pace car including a '77 Trans Am, '70 Esprit, and a '75 Esprit. Although he's currently restoring a '71 Cougar Roddy says he'll trade back to a Firebird when he's finished. Another '80 model because their the prettiest cars in the world.

Mike Ahad is the proud owner of this Firebird Esprit. They both hale from Ontario Canada. Mike writes:

"I bought this car three years ago and it was equipped with a very tired 301 engine.  It was a very base level car, the only options being a 301 and three speed automatic.  It had full hubcaps on pizza cutter rims and it was lacking a factory spoiler.
About a year and a half ago I yanked that tired ol' 301 out and dropped a 403 big block between the fenders.  Next I added headers and S/S duals with no cats.  I've got a 3.42 Trans Am rear end.  I pulled the pizza cutters off and put fatty Cragars on.  It has a 350TH tranny with a stage three shift kit.  I also added factory Trans Am gauges."

"I would like to submit these pictures to the "International Firebirds" gallery in the section dedicated to Polish Firebirds. I noticed 2 buddies from my F-body club in the same section. My car is an '88 T/A with a 305TPI engine and a manual 5 speed tranny with B&M short throw shifter. It's red inside and outside and has got T-Tops. Exhaust uses 3" all the way out the back with Flowmaster 80 Series mufflers and sans the emissions equipment. Congrats on a good idea for a website."

Hi! First to say: KICK ASS HOMEPAGE !!!Best I`ve ever saw.

My Profile:
Name:Ansgar Hansen
Age:23
I live in:Kyllburg (Germany)

"I sent you some pics of my loved 1979 Trans Am. I always whished to own a 1979 Trans Am. I searched the Internet and many many car magazines for such a car. but when I found a serious one it was too expensive or all but original. That was the main fact i was looking for. A car that is almost original. One day I found an interesting readout in the internet in Switzerland. It was a brand new readout and I think a few hours after the seller put it in the Internet I already called him back. A few days later I drove down there and bought it. It had a few things that were damaged i.e. the exhaust, tires and other little things, but the base of the car was absolutely perfect!
It took me maybe 5 minutes between the first time I saw the car and the point where I said "DEAL!" I am native German and it is really impossible to pay such a car here. Alone the fact that 1 Liter gas costs about 2.15 DOLLARS !You can think of the rest...I have some good friends in Luxembourg. I live directly near the Border. There it is much much cheaper to have such a car. So in the end the car runs on his name there and I drive around with it, but this year I make it on my name because in June 2004 it turns to be an old timer and that is cheap in Germany, too.
The car has a Solar Gold color which is signed in books as a special order for the year 1979. The most special thing on it is the special and rare special fisher Targa roof which was manufactured just on some cars. I had to do some work on the engine. I renewed the carburetor, all electric parts, and the timing chain, and water pump. I also put out all the seats and carpets to clean everything. Now the car is mostly original and in a very good shape. This summer I plan to put on the firebird emblem again. The first owner put it off because it "looked ugly" he said...Arrr. Then I have to make new end parts for the exhaust. My aim is to have an ALL ORIGINAL CAR again. I am no fan of extreme tuning and stuff, especially with such an old treasure. I also designated my own homepage for the car. The URL is http://webplaza.pt.lu/jang1. There I have more details about the car. Things like the build sheet, original prospects and more photos."
