"Hi there, nice website, cool pics and info! I thought why not send in my own info about my car. Here's some of the specs and info:   It's a 1989 Pontiac Firebird, with a 5.0 liter Chevy 305 V8 engine. The engine is original except for the exhaust. The paint job looks to be original, two-tone colored. The original exhaust has been replaced by a single side-pipe as you can see on the pictures. Also the original wheels have been replaced by 15" American Racing wheels with 235 tires all round. I hope to replace the rear wheels some day with even wider tires and rims.
I bought the car about a year ago, in a horrible state. It nearly died on a farmyard due to lots of rust. Especially the wheel arches were rotten. These wheel arches have been rebuild by a pretty skilled welder from The Hague in Holland. I don't drive it very often but I wait for the summertime to drive again.. Unfortunately there are still some leaks, so the rain will poor straight into the car, on the passenger floorboard.. Seems to be a common problem and still looking for a good fix without having to tear the whole car apart. That's about it! Hope you like it, I sure do! Drives like hell.. :) Better then those crappy Volkswagens and Peugeots you see around here!"

Chris Calinesco owns this 1988 GTA. Chris writes:

"Hey ! Just wanted to submit a shot or two of our 88 GTA . It has the L-98 350 and 700 r4 with a 9 bolt rear end that it was born with. Most of the standard mods are done like headers, stainless exhaust, chip, K&N air filter, T/B air foil as well as a shift kit that makes nice tire chirps when it shifts. I'm working on porting and polishing a set of SLP high-flow intake runners and when their ready to go on I'll be putting a BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a set of Accel 24 lb. injectors. Also installed a new pair of QA-1 double adjustable rear shocks, they are something else and work great with the Eibach lowering springs. I also have a pair of KYB adjustable front struts on the way . I'm hoping to get the suspension and chassis sorted out this summer the move on to the next steps to turning this into a street driven road-race car. I like not having to slow down for curves. Ha! ha! I don't see too many as clean as this one around here (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) but it looks like you guys down south have a lot of nice ones around, from what I've seen. Well take care and keep them running!!"

Two '90 TAs in one month!? I'm speechless. Either you guys are paying attention or its just dumb luck. Bruce Johnson owns this one. Bruce writes:

"Hello, I am a proud owner of a 1990 Trans Am "Blackbird". I bought this car about 2 1/2 years ago. It is stock with a 5.7L, 350 corvette LT1 engine, 5-standard. The only things that I have added to the car was a Sony system with a 10" sub. A cherry bomb exhaust system and a K & N filter. This baby is very fast and would give those ponies a hard time keeping up. Thank you."

Mathias Jaeger owns this 1979 Trans Am. Mathias writes:

"It all started February 14th 1979 (yes: Valentines Day)… My Trans Am 6.6 Litre was delivered on that very day in Ohio and then shipped to Triangle Pontiac in Long Island and then to Switzerland…
Ever since I have seen Smokey and the Bandit, I have been hooked up with this great piece of machinery. Some 30 years later, I finally found a decent one in Switzerland (yes: I am Swiss and live near Zurich). My Pontiac Trans Am has just undergone some major restoration work. More info on the TA over at www.ta79.com!"

Rick Allan owns this red '67 Firebird. Rick writes:

"Hi my name is Rick Allan and I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and I hope you will display the pics of my Firebird on your terrific site. I purchased this car locally in 2001 and have spent the last 6 years slowly restoring it. It was originally a base six model (190hp) and I decided early on that I would clone it into a 400. I have kept the original numbers match O.H.C. six and 2 speed tranny in the event that someday someone wants to restore to original, I won't be. I installed a 1972 400 rebuilt to factory specs, approx. 300hp coupled to a new turbo 350 transmission. Engine is topped off with an Edelbrock Performer intake and a 640 Road Demon carb. Have installed HEI electronic ignition for better starting and dependability, the original point set up was a pain in the butt. All springs front and back are new and upgraded to 400 specs.
The Brakes are manual drums at all four corners and are the next item I will be upgrading to a Behr disc/drum setup. As for the body the only sheet metal replaced prior to painting was the both quarters, floor, trunk and rails are original and were in excellent shape. I installed a Goodmark 400 hood to complete the look and stored the original hood. Both bumpers are original and have been re-chromed. All other trim has been redone or replaced with NOS were possible. The deluxe interior on the car is all original and has had a few seams re-sewn and completely re-dyed.
To tell the truth when I was looking for a car to restore I was actually looking for a Camaro but when I came across this 'bird I was immediately sold and bought it right away. This car is unique as such that when I go to cars shows or gatherings you always see a least a dozen Camaros but my car is usually one of only one or two firebirds there. This is a great car to own and a lot of fun to drive."

Thanks
Rick Allan

Ingemar Caisander owns this 1982 Trans Am. Ingemar writes:

"Hello! My name is Ingemar and I'm sending you a few pictures of my '82 Trans Am in the hope of you putting it on your great site. My car is a 1982 Firebird Trans Am that I bought back in 1999. It sports a 1978 Chevrolet LM1 350 V8 (replacing the original 305 LG4 V8), fitted with a Rochester Quadrajet carb and a 3-step TH200 automatic, power windows, A/C, hydraulic steering, and the original (still fully functional) AC Delco cassette player. The exhaust system is a free-flowing home built 2.5" system with no mufflers or restrictors - it gives a really great rumble!
The wheels are 15" Camaro chromed alloy rims fitted with 235/60R15 tyres. The car has received a new paint job (all black), and some general modifications to make it street legal here in Sweden (amber rear turn signals, extra rear reflectors, and re-wiring of the front turn signals). I have also added the two small fog lights under the nose (as DLR lights), the inner roof decoration, upgraded loudspeakers, immobilizer, new decals, etc. Having this wonderful car is a dream come true for me, and since they are quite rare here in Sweden it is a real head-turner whenever I take it for a drive! ;)"

Cheers, Ingemar Caisander

Randy White owns this black 1982 Trans Am. Randy writes:

"I just came across your website doing a search for firebird annuals. Now I know there aren't any 3rd generation promos...that's too bad. Looking around i think you've got a great site. I would like to add my car to the "projects" section. I have a 1982 Trans Am that i bought in April of 2007. Like many I've always wanted one since seeing Knight Rider when i was little. You couldn't get much closer than this car. Some history first. It was produced for the Canadian market, built in Van Nuys in July 1982. The car floated around dealers for a few years before being purchased. It's had two ladies own it before i bought it. It's 1 of 274 with the LU5 Crossfire Injection 305 for export to Canada. This car is loaded. It has power everything, including 6 way adjustable driver's seat. It's got the wiper on the back too, rear defogger and t-tops. It's riding on 15" wheels. When i bought the car it came with a fifth 15" turbo cast wheel on an original Goodyear Eagle, (sitting in my garage now). I found a set of bowling ball caps for it, which need to be finished along with the rest of the car. The car looks good from 10 ft away but it's hiding lots of work to be done underneath the skin. Actually up close you see that it needs some body work. A bit of rust around the t tops and under the fenders. Also in the engine compartment and underneath the car...yep I'm talking floors. The car is running pretty good. I'm driving it now in the good weather. I'm not sure when the car is going to get restored but I'm enjoying having it. I did buy another 82, an S/E and got help stripping it. First time I've done any car work and it was a blast tearing it apart. I'm looking forward to learning more and doing some mechanical stuff myself. I will be keeping the car original. No increase in engine size here with the car being a bit rare. This is not a WS6 car since it has rear drums, but still has a bit of rarity in the great white north. I'm always interested in hearing from other owners so feel free to email me, f1guy@rogers.com or f1guy@hotmail.com, especially those with 82 to 84 cars."
