Blue Firebird (74,768 bytes) Both this 1985 Firebird and the 1991 Formula below belong to Chris Doyle. Chris writes:

"Hi there, I am a big fan of your site, its about time someone has recognized the firebird for the truly awesome car it is!! Here are my cars, the blue car is a 1985 firebird that originally came with a 2.8L five speed, but after 256,000 kms the engine started to get bad, so we swapped it out for a carbureted 305ci and Turbo 350 automatic. It has since been painted a couple of times, and is now kind of a purple color, but will someday be blue again.
The car came with power windows, power trunk, tilt , cruise, T-bar roof, and grey cloth interior. I have owned the car for 11 years, and I am only the second owner. It was my first firebird, and I have no plans to sell it, someday it will be passed on to my son."

White Formula (135,177 bytes)      "The white car is a 1991 formula , I recently purchased this car for $3,000 and it has been a blast to drive. It has a tuned port injection 305 with the five speed transmission, and a 3.73 posi rear end. It also has a Hooker Headers performance exhaust, which give it a mean rumble.
This car has power windows, locks, mirrors, and trunk. It also has the T-bar roof, and tinted windows. The power that this car has is really amazing, it will easily spin the tires in third gear. This car will also be painted in the future, and will remain in my collection for many years."

Thanks for posting my cars, and I'll send more photos soon.

Christian Reiter owns this ultra rare 1980 Formula. He also owns the 1991 TransAm and 1980 Turbo Trans Am below. Chris writes:

"This is a one owner car from Switzerland and I took it one year ago to Germany. Everything worked good but I'm a perfectionist and so I took the engine out and installed some new parts in it (all original parts). Next I rebuilt the turbo (at AIResearch Garret, the Turbo has the production Name TBO 205), and rebuilt the transmission and the rear axle with new seals and oil! The Car is a one of 1,246 ever built 1980 Turbo Formula and it has the original paint and interior! Everything is in real good condition and I am always doing new things to it to make it perfect! The car now has a new exhaust from Mecham Racing without the catalytic converters. The car also has 4-wheel Disc Brakes. It even has the original Owners Manual with the Inspection Plan!

My car is colored Fiero Bronze, and I'm very proud to have one of these rare Birds in such a rare color! I've never seen another Firebird in this color! This is my 12th F-Body and I've never had one that takes my breath away like this one does!  GM built Turbo Cars are very rare in Germany because the guys here lose their minds on the German Autobahn and wreck their cars! This is my second Turbo Car and I've never had any problems with it. The rule: change the oil every 3,000 miles, warm it up slowly and cool it down slowly!"

I hope you enjoy it!
Chris

"This is my 1980 Turbo Trans Am, this car is like my Formula from Switzerland. I brought it to Germany in 1999! This is a two owner Trans Am in a absolutely orginal condition! The paint is the original from the factory. The body is colored Cameo White and inside the car the color is blue, with a blue "Chicken" on the hood! The car is rust free but not perfect, there are some problems with the paint (most notably with the plastic parts )!
The original engine has 102,000Km and runs like the day it was new! The car has the WS6 Option and with T-Tops its a lot of fun to drive! Of course there are 4-wheel disc brakes and the 3.08 limited slip rear axle! Everything, including the original radio work like new! Inside the car looks like new so maybe I will take the car to the paint shop and have them re-paint the plastic parts! Then I'll give it a new rear spoiler decal! Then the car would be perfect! I never want another 2nd Gen. like these great Turbos! I think they are very good and technically interesting engines!"

Finally Christian also owns this amazing 1991 Trans Am. Christian writes:

"This is one of the first ever produced '91 Trans Ams, built in January 1990! The car goes to a dealer in Martinsville and the dealer takes it to be featured in a commercial! I don't know if the car was driven on a race track or if he only made a commercial with it. I liked the car so much I had to have it! The car has one owner and is all original with 86,000km and some very special options. All the options came with the car from the Pontiac dealer:

Aluminum Driveshaft
Engine Oil Cooler
Transmission Oil Cooler
Airfoil
K&N Cold Air Induction
WS 6
Performance Ignition System
Shift Kit
Aluminum Rear Drums
Pace Car lights
5.0 TPI with TB Bypass
Polished Runners and some other goodies

The car has very rare tail lights which were only installed on a few cars in 1991 and 1992! The car is in very clean condition and only driven on sunny days. Everything works perfect and I like it so much! The car has the original paint and all service has been completed on schedule! It's a very fast car and 1 of 4 ever made like this!"

Red Firebird (127,124 bytes)
A site visitor sent me these pics of a what looks to be a '72 Firebird. Thailand has to be one of the more unique locations to find a Firebird, especially one this old. Check out the two tone red and flat black paint job. Also check out the taillights in the rear and the third brake light installed in the rear window. You may also notice this is a rare right hand drive Firebird. Pics were taken near the Ancient City about 30km from Bangkok.

Thanks to Christophe Blanchard for the pics.

"Hi, it's really a pleasure for me to add my unique Trans Am to your gallery :)
So I'll send some pics .. hope u like it. This is Mike, 26 year old Iranian Guy living in Kuwait and since I had this dream of having a Trans Am since I was watching the KNIGHT RIDER series, So I had to make this dream Come true. I Bought This Snow-White `91 Trans Am like 2 Years ago with 70k Miles only and it was so untouched and Clean. I did a major tune up and fixed the very small details and changed it's original Rims and Tires to 18" 3M Series Highline Rims and Special Ventus Sport Tires. I replaced lots of it's parts with more heavy duty parts since we have a hellish climate in Kuwait. I changed it's own water aluminum radiator with a bigger 4 way radiator, added an additional Mercedes Benz Fan in front of it, and changed the Dinamo to 100 Amp and put in a stronger battery. The Engine is
a 5.7L V8 original Pontiac and the gearbox is 700. My car audio system is the original Delco cassette player, but I've added a portable Panasonic CD-MP3-WMA player to the dashboard and 444 watt Sony X-PLODE Amp and Pioneer sub-woofer and tweeters. After all I believe that I own the cleanest and most beautiful 3rd Generation Trans Am in the State Of Kuwait and I guess I'm the first one adding my Firebird to your great site from Kuwait."

Best Regards
Mike

"Hi Jimmy, thought I'd send you some pics of my car for the International section for your site. I previously had a '72 mach 1 mustang which I sold because I decided I wanted a bullnose firebird. I had only seen a few of these cars over the few years that I had attended American car shows here in England, so I bought a couple of books about 2nd gen firebirds so I would know a good one when I saw it. In one of the books ' FIREBIRD AND TRANS AM' 67-94 by Holder and Kunz, on page 31, I saw my first picture of a 1970 Formula 400. I'd never seen a Formula before and it blew me away. It's bright yellow and I thought that it was one mean looking motor. So I had found my car, a Formula 400. I  scoured the ads and looked at all the sites that sold American cars here in the UK but I never saw one Formula for sale. I wasn't fussy, '70-'73 would be fine but what I really wanted was a bright yellow 1970 like I had seen in the book, but I never ever ever thought I'd find one, so any color would do me. Eventually I kinda gave up the hope of finding a Formula 400, and went viewing several bullnose firebirds including a 1972 455HO Trans Am white with blue with only 44k on the clock and as beautiful and powerful as that car was, it still didn't quite make my hairs stand up when I looked at it so I passed it over and waited some more. I put loads of wanted ads on the net asking for a '70-'73 Formula 400. Then many months later I got an e-mail for a guy saying he might have something that I might be interested in, he had seen one of my want ads and that he was selling his 1970 Formula 400. He'd had it for 14 yrs, but the car had done less than 150miles in the last five years. He just didn't drive her any more (strange man), anyway he sent me an attachment pic of the car and I just couldn't believe my eyes when I downloaded and opened the file. Low and behold a BRIGHT YELLOW 1970 FORMULA 400 and he only lived 20 minutes from my house. I had in fact actually found my car. I think even if she had been a complete tea bag (full of holes) I would of still bought her. She isn't a numbers matching car, nor is it her original color which was Granada Gold and the engine is a rebuilt 1975 T/A engine with a .060 bore, TWR pistons, I don't know the compression but it has definitely been increased, Lunati cam, 4bbl 750 Holley, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and now roller tip comp cams rockers, th400 tranny with a shift kit and a B&M Quick Silver shifter, 15" Revolution split rims with 255 BFGoodrich tires all round, she has 3.08 open rear end, she's a tidy car Jimmy, not the cleanest because the work was done 10yrs ago now and she's starting to show in a few places now but the engine and tranny had done less than 5k when I got her. I've had her 3.5 yrs now and I still get that same kick when I open the garage door as I did when i opened that attach pic for the very first time. Anyway Jimmy, thanks for your help with the a/c wires, it was much appreciated."

cheers,
Steve
